what am i suppose to do with my roses before winter?

1. BRING THEM INSIDE, AND IN A COOL PLACE.
2. find out if they are perennials or annuals if they are annuals they will die during the winter if they are perennials let them go they will come back next year
3. put those in ur fridge
4. Prune them low, they'll come back next year
5. when I was a kid, my mother would cut hers down to not much more than a stump
6. Cut them back to just above the lowest leaves. If you live in a cold weather area, mound up mulch around them. Make sure you remove the mulch after the danger of frost is over.
7. For starters Roses are deciduous, you cant bring them in for the winter. Prune them, when new buds start to show, by cutting back to 1/3, this will promote new spring growth and good flowering. Cut to a bud that is facing to the outside of the plant. remove all growth that is growning inwards. Give them a good feed of either rotted animal manure, or a slow realease ferterliser at the time of pruning.
8. Depends on where you live and what kind they. If they are hybrid teas, for example, cut them back and cover the crown with mulch. Some people cover the whole plant with a dome-like thing, but other have said not to due to condensation, etc. If your area does not have a harsh winter, you can sometimes leave established bushes alone and they will be fine. It is best to do some research on the type of plant and your climate. There are a lot of different opinions out there about what works and what doesn't.
9. I have had roses for 12 years. I always prune (cut down) to about 4-5in seal the cut end with fingernail polish (yep I did say fingernail polish a friends grandma told me to do this 10yrs ago and I've done it ever since.) Then I put mulch and/or dead leaves to cover completely. In the spring I rake away the mulch/leaves sprinkle with a dry rose fertilizer and they grow tall and beautiful every year.
10. Cut by the bottoms of them and put them into water in a nice vase in the house. You don't want them to freeze when winter comes.
